zoomer.de is a recently started german news portal which aims to be a News 2.0 website with lots of user interaction and control.
At the Snow Sprint 2008 I had the chance to talk to Manfred Schwendinger from Lovely System. Lovely Systems build the site based on Zope 3 technology and Manfred showed me especially the solution they used for the commenting system.

Jodok Batlogg of Lovely Systems talks about how he optimized lovelybooks.de by changing the complety hosting setup from using Apache and Squid to using NGINX and Varnish as well as optimizing Zope settings.

Zope 3 is a great system with lots of flexibility but if you want to start quickly you have a problem. grok is going to solve that in that it uses conventions instead of configuration and thus makes Zope3 as easy as e.g. Ruby on Rails. Philipp von Weitershausen explained on the Snow Sprint 2007 in Sibratsgfäll how grok works and who to start with it.
